3-in-1

1dress3waysThere’s nothing I love more than coming up with multiple ways to wear my favorite items.  That’s why I thought it would be fun to share a post where I did just that-create a look for three different occasions with one dress.

Church  churchdress4bownecklaceThis first look I put together for church. I love the matchy-matchiness of the sparkly necklace with this dress. They really look like they were made for each other!  I decided to go all in with the blue accessories, from my sunglasses all the way down to my feet.churchdress2bluewedgeheelschurchdress1I’ve had these blue wedge sandals for years and don’t wear them a whole lot anymore, so I couldn’t resist the opportunity.blueshades

Dress: White Plum (sold out) / Necklace-similar colors here and here, Bracelets, & Shades-similar: Rue 21 / Heels & Watch: Target, old / Clutch: Maurices, old

Workworkdress2workheelsFor my work look, I had to add a cardigan to adhere to our “no tanks allowed” dress code.  I chose to play up the blue in the dress again by covering up with this striped cardigan, and I also really like the way the patterns compliment each other. workdressaccessoriesworkdressI thought the blue sweater and blue heels might be a little over the top, so I switched it up with coordinating camel belt and heels instead.

Play  casualwithbluesandalscasualdressandturquoiseThis version is perfect for a day of shopping or a summer afternoon date.  I toned down the accessories with a simple turquoise and gold necklace and bracelet.  A small crossbody purse is always my top choice for an afternoon out or day on the go.coralcasualdresscasualdress2casualdressgoldpurse

Necklace: JCP / Purse: JCP / Sandals: Maurices, old similar

I’ll let you in on a little secret…on a lot of Mondays, you will find me in the same outfit I wore to church the day prior.  It eases a little of the Monday stress if I have something ready that I already know works!

Care to share any of your 3-in-1 tips?  Which version of mine is your favorite?

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great week!

Last week, Tyson and I spent some time up north visiting my aunt and uncle.  We had the BEST time!  It was so great to just be able to relax and enjoy each other’s company.  We laughed (and ate) so much!

On Thursday, we spent the afternoon in Chicago.  It was pretty cool the whole time we were there, so I was glad I packed jeans.  I even wore a black blazer all day.  These flats from Sole Society were the perfect choice for walking around the city.  A couple months ago, they were on sale, and I had them in my online cart for a few days.  By the time I decided to buy them, my size was sold out, so when they came back in stock and went on sale again recently, I didn’t hesitate!  I also ordered these, these, and this…Oops.  They are nearly sold out again unless you wear a size 5, but I’ve linked some similar styles below.

After shopping, we enjoyed a very incredible dinner at Quartino.  If you ever find yourself in the area with a yen for Italian food, you should definitely try it out!chicagoquartino

After dinner, us girls went our own way, and the boys theirs to take in different shows.  My aunt and I had tickets to see the Blue Man Group.  It was super cool.  I don’t even know how to explain it, but they are so funny and entertaining.  No pictures were allowed during the show, but we were able to sneak this one in before it started;)bluemangroup

I have to say thanks to my aunt and uncle again for their hospitality and for absolutely spoiling us while we were there.  It was truly one of the best getaways I’ve had in a long time!

Spring is officially in full swing!  Hallelujah!  While the temps aren’t quite where I’d like them to be yet (warm enough for bare legs!), the fact that, according to the calendar, winter is no mas just puts my brain in a happier place, and I’m so thankful I’ve been able to enjoy the warmth and sunshine the past couple weekends:)

Today’s look features one of my favorite things-print mixing!  Stripes are the easiest print to mix and match with.  Just keep your pieces in the same color families, and you’ve got an interesting new spin on your most basic pieces.

Today, I mixed stripes and florals, pulling them together with black, white, and mustard.  I’ll let you in on a little secret…This is actually a strapless dress, last seen here, hence the sweater layers;)

Check out the gallery below for more print mixing inspiration.  If you’re not a dress person, the same idea goes for striped tees or tanks, or you can swap the scarf for a pair of floral print heels, which are on my spring wish list.  I also came across several flat styles, and I’m pretty sure I need a pair of those as well!

Have a lovely Monday!

How often do you create an outfit that starts with the shoes?  Such was the case with this little red and leopard number.  I absolutely love these heels, but I have literally 2 tops that match them, so they don’t get worn very often:(  When I bought them, I must not have read the memo yet that says only buy if you can think of 5 outfits to wear them with, or some such nonsense like that…

Seriously, though, that’s a good rule to shop by, but sometimes a girl just want what she wants.  Know what I’m sayin’?

If you’re in the market for some ruby slippers of your own, I’ve linked up all, shapes, styles and price points below for your browsing pleasure.  Have a great weekend girlies!

Oh, P.S.  If you got any styling tips for me and my red high heels, I’d love to hear them:)

Cardigan: Old Navy, old / Dress: from White Plum (no longer available), this summer, love this sweater dress option for fall or winter! / Heels: Old Navy (sold out online), this fall

How about a #tbt to Monday when it was like 80 degrees!  Perhaps we could rewind and hit repeat…not on the Monday part, though.  That wouldn’t be cool.  I took advantage of the heat and the opportunity to wear this aztec print dress.  I think the color, burnt sienna (I googled it, so what), keeps it seasonally appropriate, and the turquoise cardigan and leopard heels cover up enough but still keep it fun!

No doubt I can continue wearing this dress even after the temps drop for good with thick tights and knee-high boots.  The same can be said for all of the great aztec dress options below, all under $50!

As much as I hate to admit it, fall is just around the corner, so I’m planning on getting as much wear out of my neons as I possibly can!  When I saw this dress on Whiteplum.com, I just could not pass it up, and I got so many compliments on my tan when I wore it.  Note to self: Neons make a quickly fading tan look fan-freakin-tastic!

Today, I’m heading to Nashville for a fun getaway.  Tyson is playing in a golf scramble Saturday with his dad for a company event, and I will be poolside freshening up the aforementioned tan! We also plan on hitting the town Saturday night, so follow me on Instagram to see where I end up;)  Click hereInstagram Or look me up later @jingerscloset.

Have a great weekend ya’ll!

Sweater, Dress, and Sandals: Old Navy, 2-3 years ago…I can’t really remember / Purse: last year similar, mini pouch, straw clutch (so cute!), similar

Do you ever have a piece of clothing in your closet that you keep coming across and think, “Hmm, I really like that.  I should wear it some time?”  For me, that item is this sweater, but every time I saw it, I seemed to be in a hurry and couldn’t take the time to really think it over.

I finally decided to actually pull it out of the closet and make an attempt at pairing it with something, and I had actually given up and set it aside when I pulled this dress (yes, another sundress) off the hanger.  The dress is pretty low-cut, and I obviously couldn’t wear it to work without something over it, and the sweater was still there where I threw it on the floor hung it back up ever so nicely:)

Next thing you know, I’ve got a red and yellow outfit, which I had been wanting to try anyway but didn’t think I had the pieces.  Add a belt (of course) as it was borderline muumuu territory, and I have a brand new outfit that that I’ve never worn before!

That is what makes fashion so much fun for me; being able to stretch my creative muscles to accomplish something that I actually enjoy and sharing my ideas and encouraging you, dear readers, to do the same:)  Have a great day, and, as always, thanks for reading!

Mix and Match today’s gallery for some red and yellow inspiration.  I’m loving the red shirt dress, anchor necklace, and red lace skirt!  Which ones are your faves?
