This dress makes me want to go to Mexico and listen to a mariachi band while sipping margaritas!  I’m pretty sure it was made to wear to a fiesta.  The denim takes on such a fun and festive spin with the bright, multi-colored embroidery and cute cap sleeves.

It is also so comfortable!  Even more so without the belt, which basically turns it into a really full short mumu!  And it has pockets.  I mean, enough said, right?

This dress is definitely going with me on my next beach vacation, but with neon yellow sandals rather than heels.  Said vacation is about 3 1/2 months away, but it never hurts to start thinking ahead;)

Have a great Monday!  If you need me, I’ll be daydreaming about white sand beaches and sombreros.  Ole!

When I decided to purchase this skirt from White Plum, I envisioned wearing it with bright pink or my neon yellow heels, but it’s actually more green than yellow, and the pink just didn’t feel quite right.

I finally pulled this old neutral blouse out of the closet in a last ditch effort to make something work, and I was surprisingly pleased!  I think it works because it allows the boldness of the skirt to speak for itself.  The necklace was just a happy accident that brought it all together perfectly.

May I also add that this skirt style would look great on anyone!  I love the definition of the high waistline coupled with the roominess below.  Whether you go with a bold print or a solid color, the shape is definitely universally flattering, and I would like to add a few more to my collection, starting with the toucans below!  Which one would you pick?

Garden Party

I do believe this might be the prettiest skirt I’ve ever owned.  A work of art really.  I ordered this Electric Garden Party Skirt from White Plum a couple weeks ago and was beyond pleased when I took it out of the package.  The quality of the material and vibrancy of the colors were even so much better in person than the way it appeared online.

The fit is also perfection with the defined waist and knee length flare.  This skirt will definitely be a summer staple, and the array of colors makes for a multitude of opportunities to mix it up.

I feature a lot of items purchased from White Plum because I have fallen in love with their colorful and unique selections (they’ve even reposted a couple of my Instagram pics!).  If you want to check them out, now is the perfect time!  From now thru July 4, spend $40+ and get 50% off your entire order with code AMERICANBEAUTY, plus shipping is always free with any $50 purchase.

Neon, Neon

Dress: Whiteplum.com (sold out) / Tanktop: Walmart / Cardigan: Oldnavy / Clutch: Maurices similar / Heels: Guess via DSW similar, similar

As much as I hate to admit it, fall is just around the corner, so I’m planning on getting as much wear out of my neons as I possibly can!  When I saw this dress on Whiteplum.com, I just could not pass it up, and I got so many compliments on my tan when I wore it.  Note to self: Neons make a quickly fading tan look fan-freakin-tastic!

Today, I’m heading to Nashville for a fun getaway.  Tyson is playing in a golf scramble Saturday with his dad for a company event, and I will be poolside freshening up the aforementioned tan! We also plan on hitting the town Saturday night, so follow me on Instagram to see where I end up;)  Click hereInstagram Or look me up later @jingerscloset.

Have a great weekend ya’ll!

Feeling Tropical

One of my favorite summer staples is the sundress.  I’ve got several in my closet in all different colors, patterns, and lengths, and I will often reach for one of those on the weekend before a pair of shorts and a tanktop when the temperatures skyrocket.

Speaking of, I’m loving this “tropical” weather we’ve been experiencing with the hot, humid days and then the downpours to cool it off.  Even though I’m not in the tropics, I wanted to give my dress an island vibe, and the colorful beaded necklace, and my recent Jamaican souvenir bracelets did just the trick:)

Fortunately, you don’t have to leave the country to find fun tropical pieces to accessorize with.  Browse the gallery below for more colorful dress and jewelry options!

Racing Stripes

Racing Stripes

Earrings: Old Navy, recent / Necklace: Premiere, old / Sweater: Maurices, last fall / Pants: old / Boots: JCP, old

For some reason, the strip of yellow against my sweater reminded me of a race car.  I don’t really know why, so I did a Yahoo search for “racing stripes”, and this poster for the movie popped up.  I haven’t seen the movie, but I thought it was pretty funny that it matched my outfit perfectly:)  Random…

Anyway, I love how adding a pop of neon at my ears and around my waist really reinvents this pretty basic work outfit.  The belt came with a summer dress I bought a couple years ago, and I did buy these earrings recently just to match it.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had a pair in my hand and then put them back and regretted it, so I finally bit the bullet.

Accessories, like skinny belts, colorful baubles, and scarves, have been at the top of my wish list recently.  They are a lot cheaper than buying a whole new outfit and can make an old outfit feel completely new!

What are your tricks for updating and re-creating some of your old outfits?
