According to the free online Merrian-Webster Dicionary to enchant means “to attract and hold the attention of (someone) by being interesting, pretty, etc.; to put a magic spell on (someone or something).”  That is exactly how I feel about this dress!

There is so much to it to be attracted to, starting with the chambray bodice with delicate embroidery surrounded by lace.  The chambray back in itself is such an interesting and flattering detail.

Follow that by the red skirt that flows down into a colorful stand-out design around the hem.  So beautiful!  The best part is I got it for less than $20 with an awesome discount code from White Plum!

It’s hard to believe today is the last day of July, and fall will be here before we know it, but the great thing about maxi dresses is that they transition so easily with the season by simply adding a jean jacket and replacing sandals with ankle boots.

Monday Remix:Polka Dot Dress

reddressredblackpolkadotsredpolkadotdressrufflesandpolkadotsfloralheelsandpolkadotsDress: White Plum (no longer available) similar here (splurge) and here, Plus / Blouse: Maurices, old similar, similar / Necklace: Gift / Purse: hand-me-down similar, similar / Heels: Charlotte Russe / Watch: Target, similar / Ring: hand-me-down

This dress is definitely one of my closet favorites.  When I bought it, I really didn’t take the time to think about all the different ways I could wear it; I just knew I love dresses, I probably “needed” one with polka dots, and it was too good of a price to pass up!

Now I know that my favorite thing about this dress is its versatility.  From pairing it with summer sandals to wintery leather boots, it’s a staple for all seasons.

Playing up the deep V-neck with a black ruffly blouse, and adding floral Heels were a new fun idea-tested and approved!  As I’m typing this, I’ve even got a couple more ideas floating around for this dress…stay tuned for details;)

Ruby Slippers

How often do you create an outfit that starts with the shoes?  Such was the case with this little red and leopard number.  I absolutely love these heels, but I have literally 2 tops that match them, so they don’t get worn very often:(  When I bought them, I must not have read the memo yet that says only buy if you can think of 5 outfits to wear them with, or some such nonsense like that…

Seriously, though, that’s a good rule to shop by, but sometimes a girl just want what she wants.  Know what I’m sayin’?

If you’re in the market for some ruby slippers of your own, I’ve linked up all, shapes, styles and price points below for your browsing pleasure.  Have a great weekend girlies!

Oh, P.S.  If you got any styling tips for me and my red high heels, I’d love to hear them:)

Valentine’s Day Round-up

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, so I rounded up a few of my favorite looks.  Click on your favorite pieces for details, and keep scrolling to read about the night I have planned, but be warned…You might be jealous;)

Red Hot

Unfortunately, my beloved will be away all next week and won’t be home until very, very late on Valentine’s Night, so I won’t be going out looking all red hot or getting dolled up for a romantic date.  Actually, as of now, I’m planning on having a little “me” time and pampering myself with a nice bath, followed by a mani/pedi, and then cuddling up in my jammies with a good book until his return.  I told you you’d be jealous.  So it’s not really the Valentine’s Day I would have chosen, but to look on the bright side, absence makes the heart grown fonder;)

What are your plans for celebrating this crazy little thing called love? Will you be wearing anything similar to today’s favorites?

If you have read many of my blog posts, you know how ecstatic I was when Spring finally arrived this year.  To see everything in bloom again after such a long winter brought joy to my soul, especially knowing that summer was just right around the corner!

Now it’s Fall, and although it’s also such a beautiful time, I often have trouble enjoying it because I know that dreaded Winter will follow closely behind.  However, this year I’m welcoming it.

The quote above has special meaning for me this Fall.  As you know from a previous post, I moved recently, and besides the fact that moving sucks, it was just a huge life adjustment altogether.  New surroundings, new routines, new church…It was a lot of new all at one time!

So, this Fall, I’ve decided to embrace this quote and rest in knowing that God’s plan for this new chapter in my life is good.  I’m going to enjoy the coolness in the air, the bright colors in the trees, and then, after they fall, the crisp leaves as they crunch under my feet.

Which reminds me, I must mention that I’ll also enjoy wearing boots because, you know, this is a fashion blog;)  But seriously, my inbox has been inundated with all the killer boot options out there right now!  It looks like this Fall is all about the booties, and while I have a few pairs already and have been majorly tempted by a couple pairs (#2 and #4 in gallery), I haven’t bitten the bullet on any yet…Mainly because I’m not convinced this style is the most flattering on me…What’s your take?  Check out some of my fave finds below!

Happy Fall Ya’ll!
