1dress3waysThere’s nothing I love more than coming up with multiple ways to wear my favorite items.  That’s why I thought it would be fun to share a post where I did just that-create a look for three different occasions with one dress.

Church  churchdress4bownecklaceThis first look I put together for church. I love the matchy-matchiness of the sparkly necklace with this dress. They really look like they were made for each other!  I decided to go all in with the blue accessories, from my sunglasses all the way down to my feet.churchdress2bluewedgeheelschurchdress1I’ve had these blue wedge sandals for years and don’t wear them a whole lot anymore, so I couldn’t resist the opportunity.blueshades

Workworkdress2workheelsFor my work look, I had to add a cardigan to adhere to our “no tanks allowed” dress code.  I chose to play up the blue in the dress again by covering up with this striped cardigan, and I also really like the way the patterns compliment each other. workdressaccessoriesworkdressI thought the blue sweater and blue heels might be a little over the top, so I switched it up with coordinating camel belt and heels instead.

Play  casualwithbluesandalscasualdressandturquoiseThis version is perfect for a day of shopping or a summer afternoon date.  I toned down the accessories with a simple turquoise and gold necklace and bracelet.  A small crossbody purse is always my top choice for an afternoon out or day on the go.coralcasualdresscasualdress2casualdressgoldpurse

I’ll let you in on a little secret…on a lot of Mondays, you will find me in the same outfit I wore to church the day prior.  It eases a little of the Monday stress if I have something ready that I already know works!

Care to share any of your 3-in-1 tips?  Which version of mine is your favorite?

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great week!

When I decided to purchase this skirt from White Plum, I envisioned wearing it with bright pink or my neon yellow heels, but it’s actually more green than yellow, and the pink just didn’t feel quite right.

I finally pulled this old neutral blouse out of the closet in a last ditch effort to make something work, and I was surprisingly pleased!  I think it works because it allows the boldness of the skirt to speak for itself.  The necklace was just a happy accident that brought it all together perfectly.

May I also add that this skirt style would look great on anyone!  I love the definition of the high waistline coupled with the roominess below.  Whether you go with a bold print or a solid color, the shape is definitely universally flattering, and I would like to add a few more to my collection, starting with the toucans below!  Which one would you pick?

According to the free online Merrian-Webster Dicionary to enchant means “to attract and hold the attention of (someone) by being interesting, pretty, etc.; to put a magic spell on (someone or something).”  That is exactly how I feel about this dress!

There is so much to it to be attracted to, starting with the chambray bodice with delicate embroidery surrounded by lace.  The chambray back in itself is such an interesting and flattering detail.

Follow that by the red skirt that flows down into a colorful stand-out design around the hem.  So beautiful!  The best part is I got it for less than $20 with an awesome discount code from White Plum!

It’s hard to believe today is the last day of July, and fall will be here before we know it, but the great thing about maxi dresses is that they transition so easily with the season by simply adding a jean jacket and replacing sandals with ankle boots.

Short & Sweet

printdaydresscoralwedgeheelsprintdressandcoralheels1printdress1crossbackstraps-(2)Dress: White Plum, no longer available but loving this one and this one for summer/ Purse: Steve Madden via TJ Maxx, cute! / Shoes: Old Navy, old similar, open toe

You girls know I love me some dresses, and this one is absolute perfection.  My favorite color blue mixed with orange in a fun, bright print, plus the unexpected long sleeves and cross-straps in the back…what’s not to love!?!

And the best part is how easy this look was to put together:

Step 1: Remove dress from hanger.

Step 2: Put it on.

Step 3: Put shoes on your feet.

In case you’ve ever wondered why my obsession with dresses, there you go.  So easy, and I walk out the door feeling like a million bucks.  I shared my winter uniform with you here, and today’s look definitely qualifies as my summer uniform.  What’s yours?

Dress: Whiteplum.com (sold out) / Tanktop: Walmart / Cardigan: Oldnavy / Clutch: Maurices similar / Heels: Guess via DSW similar, similar

As much as I hate to admit it, fall is just around the corner, so I’m planning on getting as much wear out of my neons as I possibly can!  When I saw this dress on Whiteplum.com, I just could not pass it up, and I got so many compliments on my tan when I wore it.  Note to self: Neons make a quickly fading tan look fan-freakin-tastic!

Today, I’m heading to Nashville for a fun getaway.  Tyson is playing in a golf scramble Saturday with his dad for a company event, and I will be poolside freshening up the aforementioned tan! We also plan on hitting the town Saturday night, so follow me on Instagram to see where I end up;)  Click hereInstagram Or look me up later @jingerscloset.

Have a great weekend ya’ll!

Today’s outfit takes a casual striped polo up a notch by pairing it with a floral blazer and a lace-hem skirt, and I love the contrasting patterns that are pulled together by olive green and mint!  (See a similar outfit here)

A floral blazer is an also an easy way to dress up a solid colored tee with jeans or shorts and sandals, and I’ve got my eye on a few of the ones below…

Would you dress up your casual attire with a floral blazer?

A Date Night Look

Sunglasses: Wal-Mart, recent similar, similar/ Top: Sisters (local boutique) last fall / Shorts: Old Navy, last year similar 3 1/2″, similar 5″(length pictured) and plus, similar 7″, similar bermuda 10″plus  / Wedges: Target, old similar, similar,  / Purse: last year similar, clutch

I know I haven’t posted a lot of casual-ish outfits, but that’s just because I’m in dressier clothes most of the time.  During the week, I come home from work and put on my comfies.  On Friday nights, our favorite date lately has been to grill steaks and sit around a fire on the back porch, and Saturdays are spent doing things around the house, and, weather permitting, taking a bike ride to grab a bite of supper.  On Sundays, I’m back in dress clothes.

Well, this past Friday night, we had to run to Bloomington, so we took advantage of the opportunity to eat at Scotty’s Brewhouse (highly recommend), and I was excited to actually get dressed up for a real date:)  Since I have 4 million pairs of shorts that I rarely wear, I thought it would be fun to dress up a pair with wedge heels, my fave shoe choice of late!  I like them b/c they add a few inches to my legs and are slimming; however, they make whatever you’re wearing, whether a skirt or shorts, appear shorter than they actually are…

My solution for not feeling too exposed is to wear a loose-fitting, modest top to balance out the lack of coverage on the bottom half, but the bright colors and paisley print keep it fun and fresh.

What’s your favorite way to dress up a pair of shorts?  Check out today’s gallery for several more blouse styles that would do the trick:
